Well rounds 9 & 10 are over and I didn't have the finishes I had hoped for or deserved; But I am not giving up and will continue in my fight for the championship. I was in the top 5 every practice and had pole a majority of qualifying but finished in 3rd. The first race began with me racing into P2 by turn 1, and was leading by lap 2. It was a tough race with us going through turn 1 every lap 3 or 4 cars wide. I got a bad spot after a bad few laps and finished P5. The second qualifier didn't go as well as planned either, not being able to catch the draft, and qualified P5.
The race started well and I moved between P3 and P5. Around the 3rd lap, my car began to get slower and would stutter out of slower corners. I fought through the whole race and in the last lap in the 3rd to last corner, the 1st and 2nd place leaders over drove the corner giving me the opportunity to get into the lead. In the second to last corner we went 2 cars wide, and I was hit in the side spinning me out, ruining my race. I finished a disappointing 7th place when it could have easily been a podium finish.
It will be a few weeks until our next race in Road America with American Lemans. I would like to say thank you to Trebing Tile and Carpet, Uwe Alzen Automotive, Piloti Shoes, Uvex, Bergau Plumbing, Davis Surveying, Hinrichs Party Zelte, and my parents for their continued support, because without them none of this would be possible.
And just for the bragging rights, even with the car running on 3 cylinders, I still grabbed the New Jersey Motorsports Park track record!
